Score at least 65 points on the Canberra Matrix, the ACT's own points-based ranking system used to select nominees

Have your nominated occupation on the ACT Nominated Migration Program Occupation List, or qualify through an alternative pathway (e.g. as a sponsored 457/482 visa holder working in Canberra, or a majority owner of an eligible ACT business)

Meet the residency and employment requirements for your applicant category (Canberra resident or overseas applicant)

Commit to living and working in Canberra for at least two years from the date of visa grant (or date of arrival, for overseas applicants)

ACT nomination is highly competitive; meeting the eligibility criteria doesn't guarantee an invitation, as demand for places consistently exceeds the number available.

HOW TO APPLY

Check your eligibility as a Canberra resident or overseas applicant

Register your interest by completing the Canberra Matrix

If you rank highly enough, you'll receive an invitation to apply for ACT nomination

Once nominated, lodge your visa application with the Department of Home Affairs
