Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) manages the state's NIV nomination process. Queensland accepts candidates across five talent categories.
5 NOMINATION PATHWAYS
Global Researchers; High h-index researchers with a confirmed placement or research funding at a Queensland university or research institute
Entrepreneurs; Business owners ready to commercialise or expand in Queensland. Minimum investment: $1 million
Innovative Investors; Active investors with a strong track record, ready to invest at least $5 million for two
or more years in Queensland
Athletes & Sports Professionals; Elite or high-calibre athletes, coaches, and sports specialists contributing to Queensland's sporting ecosystem
Creatives; Elite creative talent contributing to Queensland's arts, culture, and creative sector, including technical skills for Brisbane 2032
HOW TO APPLY
Review the NIV requirements for Queensland on the TIQ and Home Affairs websites
Submit a Registration of Interest (ROI) online via the TIQ website. TIQ cannot provide progress updates on ROIs
A limited number of shortlisted candidates will be contacted for evidence and invited to an interview
with a Trade and Investment Commissioner
Successful candidates receive a signed Form 1000 and can proceed with their Home Affairs EOI
