Since the state nomination opened on August 1st, the Tasmanian Government has received 1200 pre-invitation applications.
The Orange Pass for the 190 category (including Orange Plus applications) has not yet been issued this financial year but is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
Requirements for overseas 491/190 applications this financial year are still under discussion and are expected to be announced soon.
If Tasmanian graduates leave Tasmania for an extended period, they can still apply for the Graduate Pathway upon returning to Tasmania.
After 9 months of relevant work for occupational assessments, the system will not automatically update to Green.
Invitations for this financial year will be issued proportionally, with a plan to continue until the end of April to early May next year.
The Tasmanian Government will consider expediting the processing for applicants who have received pre-invitation and whose state nomination visa is about to expire (unlike South Australia, which no longer prioritizes this factor). This year, Tasmania has a total of 2860 places for 190 and 491 categories, double the previous financial year. Dependent applications also count towards the quota, so there might be a discrepancy between the number of invitations and the quota. Since August 1st, 1229 ROI applications have been received.
🔍 Policy Changes Highlights:
A new Orange-plus attribute has been introduced this year. Applicants with one plus attribute can be invited, and having more plus attributes leads to earlier invitations.
Tasmania uses an ROI model, prioritizing applicants with higher overall conditions. Regardless of the pathway, it is primarily linked to attributes factors.
🌟 Occupation List Updates:
This year, 18 new groups have been added. For work pathways, applicants with a skills assessment and 6 months of work experience, whose ANZSCO code and nominated occupation match the first 4 digits, are eligible to apply for PR. Local graduates need to work for a minimum of three months to meet the requirements.
👉 Requirements for Overseas Invitation Only Pathway:
TAS Government will proactively contact applicants to submit the Migration Tasmania Gateway expression of interest. Applicants do not need to apply independently.
The applicant's occupation must be listed in the Overseas Skilled Occupation Profiles (OSOP).
The applicant or their spouse must not have resided in other states in the past 12 months.
If invited, the applicant must provide evidence of contact with at least two potential employers in TAS over the past 12 months.
If invited, the applicant must provide a labor market survey and offer at least two job advertisements relevant to their occupation from the past six weeks, explaining how their education and work background meet the job advertisement requirements.
Priority Levels:
Gold: Meets the basic requirements mentioned above, given priority processing.
