Stage 1: Sponsorship by Employer
Assess Eligibility:
Relevant qualifications or skills;
At least 1 year of relevant work experience in the past 5 years;
English level equivalent to IELTS 5 overall, no band less than 4;
Occupation listed under one of the SID streams;
Employer agrees to sponsor and has a genuine vacancy.
Apply for Sponsorship Approval
Cost: AUD 420
Employer Requirements:
Legally registered and actively operating business;
No adverse business history;
Genuine job position;
Employment contract offered;
Meets SAF training levy obligation;
Salary meets market rate;
Position is relevant to the business.
Sponsorship Assessment May Include:
Business turnover, years of operation, number of employees;
Evidence of local labor market testing;
Reason for hiring the applicant instead of other candidates.
Stage 2: Nomination by Employer
Lodge Nomination Application
Nomination fee: AUD 330;
SAF training levy (depending on business size):
Small business (<$10 million turnover): AUD 1,200/year;
Large business (>$10 million turnover): AUD 1,800/year.
Nomination Requirements:
Occupation on CSOL (Core list) or ANZSCO Major Groups 1, 2, 4, 5, 6;
Minimum salary thresholds:
Core Skills Stream: ≥AUD 73,150/year;
Specialist Skills Stream: ≥AUD 135,000/year;
Full-time job must be offered.
Stage 3: Visa Application
Prepare Documentation:
Passport, education, and work experience documents;
English test results;
Skills assessment (if required);
Health insurance (approx. AUD 960/year);
Police checks and other personal documents.
Lodge TSS 482 Visa Application
Application fee: AUD 3,115;
Visa validity: up to 4 years.
Health Examination:
Medical check at designated panel doctors;
Cost: approx. AUD 400.
Visa Approval & Entry Preparation
Await outcome;
Upon approval, arrange travel to Australia.
