Janine Allis, the visionary behind Boost Juice Bars, was on a family vacation in the U.S. in 1999 when she noticed the popularity of juice bars. Inspired, she decided to bring this concept back to Australia, launching her first juice bar while on maternity leave in 2000. Her initial goal was to modestly run a small business, set her hours, and still be a hands-on mother.

Thanks to Janine’s dedication to excellent customer service and clever marketing tactics, Boost Juice Bars quickly gained traction. Her early efforts, like personally replying to every customer email within 24 hours and launching creative promotions like “Name Days” (where customers with a specific name could get free smoothies), set the foundation for the company’s rapid growth. In just four years, Boost Juice Bars expanded to 174 stores across Australia. Today, Boost has over 580 locations in 14 countries, solidifying its place as one of Australia’s most beloved smoothie brands. Janine’s success didn’t stop there-she expanded her food and beverage empire to include Salsa’s Fresh Mex Grill, Cibo Espresso, and Betty’s Burgers. As of today, she’s one of Australia’s richest self-made women, with a personal fortune of AU$66 million.
