NSW is set to officially announce the state nomination policies for the 2024-2025 program at the end of September, with applications expected to open in October! This year brings some significant changes that could impact your immigration plans. Here’s what you need to know!
🌟 Change 1: Updated Priority Occupation Lists 🌟
New South Wales will introduce separate priority occupation lists for the 190 visa and 491 visa. Last year's priority sectors like advanced manufacturing and renewable energy may continue to be favored. The full lists will be published at the end of September—stay tuned!
190 Visa: Priority will be given to occupations on the NSW Skills List.
491 Visa: Priority will be given to occupations on the Regional NSW Skills List.
Applicants within the same occupation group will be ranked based on points, work experience, age, and language skills. No preference will be given to onshore vs. offshore applicants!
🌟 Change 2: New 491 Visa Graduate Pathway 🌟
Pathway 1: Live and work in regional NSW for direct nomination. TSMIT requirements can be met at the time of application, with some concessions available for certain occupations.
Pathway 2: EOI pre-invitation pathway with a new 491-Regional NSW Skills List.
Pathway 3: Regional NSW Graduate Pathway requires a relevant degree and recent graduation within the last 24 months, with the course meeting regional points criteria.
🌟 Change 3: Updated Work Experience Requirements 🌟
Work experience no longer needs to be “deemed skill” and aligns with Department of Home Affairs requirements.
Check your EOI status—you won’t need to resubmit! The policy updates this year bring more opportunities, so make sure you don’t miss out! ✨
