The Australian Department of Home Affairs has recently implemented changes to the Visa Application Charge (VAC) refund policy for the Business Innovation and Investment Program (BIIP):
1. Which visas are affected?
Subclass 132: Business Talent (Permanent)
Subclass 188: Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional)
2. Who is eligible for a refund?
The first installment of the Visa Application Charge (VAC) will be refunded if the application has not been finalized and the applicant has requested to withdraw their application on or after 31 July 2024.
This refund policy is applicable to the Business Innovation, Investor, Significant Investor, or Entrepreneur streams within the BIIP.
3. How to apply for a refund?
Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for a refund by following these steps:
Visit the Department of Home Affairs website and refer to the section on Visa Application Charge refunds.
Complete the necessary refund forms, including detailed information about your visa application and withdrawal.
4. Important dates to note
The refund policy came into effect on 24 September 2024.
Only applicants who withdraw their visa application on or after 31 July 2024 are eligible for this refund.
