South Australia has updated its state nomination requirements for the new financial year. Here’s a summary of the key points:
For Offshore Applicants:
Language Proficiency: Must meet specified English language requirements.
Relevant Work Experience: At least 3 years of experience in the nominated occupation within the past 5 years; for the construction industry, 1 year of relevant experience in the past 3 years is required.
EOI Score: Must achieve the required EOI score for South Australia.
For Onshore Applicants, South Australia offers three pathways:
SA Graduates Pathway: Requires completion of 75% of the course in South Australia and relevant qualifications, plus 6 months of work experience in the nominated occupation in South Australia after graduation.
Skilled Employment in SA Pathway: Requires 12 months of relevant work experience.
Outer Regional Skilled Employment Pathway: Requires 9 months of relevant work experience.
Application Process:
SkillSelect EOI (both offshore and onshore) — Choose South Australia as your preferred state.
For Onshore Applicants: Submit a Registration of Interest (ROI)
If successful, receive an invitation to apply for SA state nomination and submit your application within 14 days.
State nomination application assessment.
If approved, receive a nomination from SA and an invitation from DHA to apply for the visa.

Special Notes:
No priority between pathways; choose based on eligibility.
South Australia will not prioritize applicants with soon-to-expire visas this year.
You can choose both 190 and 491 pathways in your EOI.
Only one ROI application per applicant is allowed.
SA graduates who completed their course by the end of 2022 are still eligible for the Graduate Pathway.
